POSITION PURPOSE OF THE HYDROVAC OPERATOR

This position serves as a Hydrovac Operator to support a wide variety of tasks in oil and gas field operations. Working under the direction of the site supervisor.

The qulified candidate will work 2 weeks on and 1 week off traveling to Barnesville, Ohio. Room and board will be provided. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS OF THE HYDROVAC OPERATOR

  • Responsible for the successful completion of hydro excavation projects including but not limited to debris removal, digging, slot trenching, and utility line exposure
  • Ability to operate hydrovac trucks and equipment with proper license and certificates
  • Perform pre an post inspections, housekeeping, and general maintenance on all trucks and equipment
  • Ensure safe working practices in potentially hazardous work environments
  • Operate an excavator
  • Ability to work on location – 12+ hour shift
  • Preform set up and inspection procedures of grounding and/or bonding during all stages of the Hydrovac operation
  • Engagement of personnel on the crew and holding them accountable for attendance, performance, and attitude while maintaining crew camaraderie and moral
  • Thoroughly completing a variety of required paperwork, ensuring it is turned in daily
  • Immediate written communication/pictures to supervisor at the completion of each job
  • Ability to have crew onsite ready to work prior to start time for the job; no tardiness
  • Ensure all equipment and materials are loaded and accounted for on paperwork prior to leaving for a job site as well as brought back after the work is complete
  • Supervise crew to ensure the job is completed correctly and in a timely manner
  • Possess ability to communicate professionally with company man onsite during job
  • Oversee attention to detail and make job related decisions
  • Inspect work performed at the end of the job to ensure nothing has been overlooked
  • Train roustabouts how to safely and effectively complete any given task ensuring adherence to all employment and safety policies as outlined in manuals
  • Inspect equipment and work area prior to beginning a job and making any needed corrections that could cause harm or accidents to individuals and equipment
  • Involvement with HVAC Supervisor to outline needs for next day’s task to ensure proper preparation and nothing is forgotten
  • Exhibit knowledge and ability to operate a commercial vehicle obeying all regulations
  • Properly servicing (checking oil, greasing, cleaning) all equipment daily prior to use
  • Communicate with shop personnel daily for repairs needed to equipment
  • Manage drill cutting waste on the assigned drill site
  • Solidify drill cuttings using an excavator
  • Complete daily field reports and all related paperwork in a timely manner
  • Responsible for scheduling and dispatching dump trucks for soil pickup
  • Maintain and used required personal protective equipment
  • Follow all policies and procedures while working
  • Other duties as assigned by management

WORKING CONDITIONS OF THE HYDROVAC OPERATOR

This position will be faced with varying working conditions. Inclement and/or extreme weather may be a factor as-well-as other unforeseen conditions. The potential for long hours and varying shifts may also exist.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE HYDROVAC OPERATOR

  • 1 year of supervisory or management experience
  • Valid Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License
  • Live within 1 hour of the assigned shop
  • Hazmat endorsement recommended but not required

SUCCESS FACTORS OF THE HYDROVAC OPERATOR

Success for this position will be measured by the ability to fulfill the above responsibilities at a minimum, arrive for work with short notice, and perform job tasks, all without repetitive follow-ups or setbacks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE HYDROVAC OPERATOR

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste and smell.The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
