Operations Manager

This position serves as a leadership role with direct oversight of all operations. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Field Operations Manager is responsible for all aspects of the district field operations including but not limited to: safety, operations, personnel, equipment, revenue, costs and profitability.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

·         Attend all requested customer meetings including safety reviews and distribute expectations to company employees

·         Participate in operations, development, safety, and all other internal company meetings

·         Establish and maintain a culture of safe working behaviors exhibited by all personnel

·         Issue disciplinary action in an effective and timely manner for all subordinates not following company guidelines

·         Develop and implement necessary organizational strategies, policies, and practices

·         Focus on continuous improvement and initiate efforts to reduce costs and enhance quality and productivity

·         Maintains an environment promoting open communication with all subordinates. Demonstrates objective listening and promotes respect while encouraging collaborative problem solving and effective working relationships

·         Manage all Field Supervisors to ensure they are involved in their daily operations and overseeing that all details are covered

·         Oversight of all policies and protocols used to ensure they are applicable, practical and as efficient as possible

·         Reviews current and upcoming operations to determine key processes, staffing needs and allotment of resources to accomplish effectively

·         Review and analyze weekly reports to ensure goals are met making changes where needed

·         Monitor outstanding field tickets waiting on signature to ensure prompt return for invoicing

·         Assist with obtaining signatures of field tickets when issues arise

·         Continuous meeting with customers to ensure of dependability and assist in sales support

·         Ensure team members have the required training, experience and tools to be safe and successful

·         Coaches and counsels assigned staff to adhere to values, policies and standards and to improve safety, quality and process reliability in a cost effective manner

·         Oversee interviewing, selection, training, development and evaluations of field personnel to ensure top notch personnel are recruited and retained within the operation

·         Monitor productivity of direct reports and field crews and identify means to assure efficiency and consistency of work

·         Develop a training program designed to maximize level of knowledge and productivity of subordinates, while forming a cohesive team environment

·         Oversee well site services and provide supervision in the absence of other personnel

·         Model effective leadership behaviors to others and develops operational goals ensuring team interaction and “buy in”

·         Generate upcoming weeks schedule and review with management to approve by end of prior week

·         Oversee layout and assignment of company crew list for designated operations to ensure an effective outline and plan is in place and updated weekly

·         Limit all non-billable costs and plan for non-billable operations to be done in the most effective manner

·         Review Field Tickets for correctness prior to sending for signature

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

This is a leadership based position responsible for the oversight of field operations and all personnel completing field operations. The individual fulfilling this position will report to the Vice President of Operations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position will be faced with a wide variety of working conditions. Inclement and/or extreme weather may be a factor as well as other possible unforeseen conditions. The potential for long hours and varying shifts may also exist. Combination of office and field and shop environments. Ability to manage a strong team and provide technical expertise as needed to ensure projects are running smoothly

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Bachelor’s Degree; experience will be considered in lieu of formal education

·         5 years of supervisory or management experience with an understanding of human relations, training, performance evaluation and safety

·         Experience with budget preparation and cost control

·         Demonstrates leadership and the ability to coordinate resources to achieve maximum profitability, efficiency and utilization

·         Must be able to communicate effectively with the President regarding plan productivity and project completion deadlines

·         Ability to effectively interact with and develop and maintain strong rapport and credibility with senior management in the company

·         Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and possess a clean driving history

·         Live within 1 hour of the shop (Barnesville, Ohio)

·         Must be willing and able to travel to various work sites as needed

DESIRED SKILLS

·         3 years industry experience preferred

·         Class A CDL strongly recommended

·         Ability to operate equipment a plus

·         Positive attitude, open mind, and ability to align team to deliver superior customer value

·         Disciplined process to analyze information objectively to identify problems, generate solutions, and implement plans 

·         Ability to identify competitors’ strengths and weaknesses to promote and develop team skills

·         Ability to prioritize the most important situations, and think quickly

·         Ability to remain calm, clear and in control in a fast pace environment

·         Detail oriented, confident, reliable with a professional attitude

SUCCESS FACTORS

A successful Operations Manager will be measured by the ability to fulfill the above responsibilities at a minimum, arrive for work with short notice, and perform job tasks, all without repetitive follow-ups or setbacks. The Operations Managers ability to maintain involvement in the needs of the customer, and subordinates will directly impact the company’s performance and overall ability to operate efficiently.
